Can anybody help me in importing shapefile from GPS(Trimble Geo7x) to BOUD v8i select series 4 with the following issues:
1. Although it is being imported, the location of the points located in the same position.
2. Only one (1) point (point mapped to POLE) of the exported points can be seen in the display.
3. and when i try to export it to KMZ/KMl file, it will be located in some places which is not the actual location of the point.
Please help me with this issues..
thanks
John,
Does the Trimble created shapefile include a .PRJ file? If so, that file would indicate the geographic coordinate system in which the points were collected. The .PRJ file is ASCII format and can be viewed with Notepad or any equivalent text editor. Before importing the shapefile, you would need to ensure that your active design file has been assigned a compatible active geographic coordinate system to allow for the necessary coordinate and/or unit conversions for the points.

Sir Jeff,
I already imported the shapefile into its accurate location, another issue i encounterd is the scale of the asset(Pole). What would be the remedy for this?
Thanks
John, in the Interoperability Import tool, after selecting "Feature Parameters > Point Type = Cell", you can use "Cell Symbology > X Scale = Session.ActiveScaleX" and "Cell Symbology > Y Scale = Session.ActiveScaleY" settings to use the active scale to size the cells used for the imported points. You can learn more about importing point features here.
Jeff,
i already tried importing as what you have instructed but an error has occurs..attached is the image of the error.
I want to import the shapefile (point) to pole into BOUD, when i choose a mapped name into "POLE", the point type will automatically change into point..
How to fix these issue..
Thanks a lot.
Since you have BOUD XFM project that defines a point feature class representing Pole data, you can use the "Feature Parameters > Mapped Name" = "Pole" as you've shown in the 2nd image. You can then also map the individual business properties of the SHP file to the Pole feature class using the "Property Parameters > Mapped Name" as also shown.
To affect the imported size of the Pole cells, before running the Interoperability Import process, use the "Plot-Scale" pull down menu to select different scales. If those cell size changes are not sufficient, then a change using the Bentley Geospatial Administrator to the BOUD XFM schema may be required, adjusting the "Pole > Symbology > Cell X[YZ]Scale" settings.
If mapping of the imported SHP data to an existing BOUD XFM feature class is not required, please note that you also have the ability to simply use the Interoperability Import "Cell Symbology" settings such as "Cell Library", "Cell Name" and "X[Y] Scale" to import the data.
