Isolate / Isolate Clear functions in Bentley Substation?

The Isolate and Isolate Clear functions aren't listed in my context menu of Bentley Substation.

How do I customize the right click menu so that they are listed as options there?

  • Jeff,
The right-click menu is also known as a Context Menu or Reset Pop-up menu. You can search on these keywords in Help, but basically you customize context menus on the Context Menus tab in the Customize dialog (Workspace >> Customize, or use key-in "customize dialog", no quotes). Menu customizations are generally done within a dgnlib file. I did a little research into the "Isolate" and "Isolate Clear" commands. As expected, those commands are basically using Displaysets. Here are the key-ins you will need to know, when you customize your Context Menu: Isolate key-in is "Displayset set selection" and Isolate Clear key-in is "Displayset Clear".

  • Mike, that is very cool. I've added it to the "Other Customizations" section of the Customizing the Interface article.

Jeff, since Substation's reset menu is context-sensitive (read "programmatically populated"), I don't believe it is exposed in the Customize dialog. Adding tools to the Context Menus area makes them appear on the platform's reset menu, but this menu does not function since it is superseded by the Substation reset menu.  But you could add the tools to the 3D Layout Design task.
