The note on page 33 of the "Bentley Substation Civil Design instruction manual" (version 3.1 dated 3/7/2014), refers to a "template folder" that makes it MUCH EASIER for starting Substation projects, so that everything is linked properly and already contains the needed models.
Where is that folder located?
(I thought it might be an option to use a template when starting a new project from the project manager, but I did not see it there.)
Hi Jeff. I don't know what that manual says, so I can't really explain what it meant. I did not find it on the Bentley LEARNserver and suspect it might specific to a specific company's procedures and perhaps not even written by Bentley. I would have to guess that what is meant by "template folder" is actually a template project and one developed by the user to conform to their standards, not a project provided with the software. Such a template project would be copied to start a new project, or pages could be copied from the template project to a new project; both methods performed using Project Manager.
Bentley Substation does use a project options file when creating a new project, so that is a template of sorts. See the Template Project Options article. Copying a template project instead only really makes sense if there are certain standard pages to be included in each project.
