How do we only show the installation text of a field box?

How do we only show the installation text of a field box? As you can see from the picture below I have entered an installation and location for the field box, the field box text shows both the installation and location as a combined text on the page. However I only wish to show the installation. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

You can follow the below steps and check if it helps you.

    1. Select Field for which you need to Display only installation and then select Element Information.

    2. Then in Element Information dialog select and then under Contents select Text String and then select Edit.

    3. Then Edit the text by deleting the Installation Text from the Text Editor dialog box.

    4. Then place the new text by hovering the mouse cursor over the DGN and then click the over the DGN and the Text will be edited to display only Installation as edited in the Text Editor window.

  • Be aware though, that if you are using templates and you create a macro of this drawing and bring it in via an API, the location text will reappear. If you do not want 'location' text to appear as a rule, you may be able to change sql script to enable this rule.

  • Right, I would not change the displayed text using Element Information/Edit Text. Because the text then disagrees with the database,it will revert as Trevor mentioned, including if you simply click OK on the Field Parameters dialog.

One solution would be to use a shape filled with the background color (BG) to mask the text to be hidden.

Another solution, if the installation value matches the installation of the page, would be to leave the installation value blank on the Field Parameters dialog.
