Part number

That message is telling you that the symbol you have selected is not part of the Family that is associated with that Part Number you are trying to assign.  For example,  let's say that you are trying to assign Part number 123 to a Normally Closed Relay contact symbol.  If Part Number 123 has been created in the Parts Database Manager to be associated with a Family, and that Family tells the software that Part 123 only has Normally Open contacts and has no Normally Closed contacts, then you would get that message.  It says that you are using a symbol (normally closed) that doesn't work with the part number and family that the software was told would work.  So the software is letting you know that there is a problem trying to link those particular items together.

You would need to change something to make those items work together better.  You might chose a different symbol, a different part number, or you might need to do something to manage the items in the catalogs or Parts database to create a new combination of family, symbols, part numbers that fits the combination you are trying to use.
