Setup Database Window

Hi Edmund. What message do you get when you click Apply on that dialog?

Is MAE-ENG-1 your workstation?

Was Promis.e working properly before without the Setup dialog appearing at startup?

Here is what happens when I click APPLY,

 Yes, MAE-ENG-1 is my current workstation.

This is my first time opening and using this new version of promis.e. 

I opened an old project that I made on an older version of promis.e, and this Setup Screen pops up.

That message indicates the software was unable to login to the database named in the Setup dialog using the credentials you also have specified in the Setup dialog.   There could be a number of reasons for this.  If this is a brand new installation, one reason might be that no database was ever created.  If the database itself exists, then this may not be the correct login information for the database.  

The screen shot shows that you are using Windows Authentication, which would mean that someone (your admin or whomever created the Microsoft SQL database probably)  would have had to have manually created a login for your windows username to get permissions to the database.   By default the database is typically set up to use SQL authentication, so perhaps just changing the login information in the Setup dialog may allow you to connect.

If MAE-ENG-1 is a new workstation for you and you were previously using Promis.e on a different workstation, then you may need to install SQL Server and create the project database on your workstation.

If this is not a new workstation for you, or you know SQL Server was installed and the database was created, it could be that the SQL Server service is stopped. Rebooting is one way to start it.

If someone else logged in to install SQL Server, then it may not be configured to accept your Windows login and you could try SQL Server authentication, the ecaduser login name and Ecad1pass password.
