Hi!
I am using Promis.e RailSignaling. When I try to insert symbols I am getting this error message.
I have checked that I have read/write ability to everythingand even moved the catalog containing the cell to my desktop but it still doesn´t work.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be?
Where did you get the catalog from and what catalog is it? Since the message mentions symbol format you might check that you have the right format of catalog for your version. The Bentley website has catalogs for both DWG (Acad) and DGN (MicroStation) format, so perhaps you installed the wrong one for the version of software you are using?
Also, the message mentions refreshing the catalog. Have you tried using the Refresh Catalog command to refresh the catalog?
It is the same issue with all my catalogs. Some of them are from customers and some catalogs I have made myself. They have all worked earlier but all of a sudden they all give me this error message.
I am using catalogs with DGN-format and I have tried bith rebuilding and refershing the catalogs but the problem persists.
Well if they worked before then it shouldn't actually be a problem with the file format so much as something happening to cause some corruption or breakdown in communication. If you already tried using the Rebuild command, then it probably isn't in the catalog folder. You might try deleting the paths to the catalogs in the Setup dialog, restarting the software, and then adding the Catalog paths back in again.
My guess is that it is something with the communication. Even the catalog that comes with Promis.e acts this way. I have removed and added the catalogs and also tried moving the catalog to my desktop and read it from there with the same result.
Are you able to create a new catalog using the Catalog Manager?
Do you get any errors when starting the software?
Did you try adding just one catalog and testing to see if it worked, instead of adding all the paths back in at once?
Please restore a sample project and try inserting symbols in that project.
I have tested downgrading the catalog and upgrading it again.
No errors when starting the software.
One catalog at a time.
I restored a sample project now and when using the catalog that comes with Promis.e RailSignaling I still get the same error message.
Haha, I tried to run Promis.e as administrator now and that seems to have solved the issue. I am guessing that the company I work for has made some restrictions for software without telling anyone (or at least me).
Big thanks for your responses though!
