Promis-e suggested wire link enhancement

Apologies if this is not the correct place to post this, but I have found what I consider to be a beneficial enhancement when placing a wire link.

If a wire link is placed either deliberately or by error on to a wire that, when linked was to cause a wire tag conflict, an "Engineering Design Consideration" pop-up appears which asks "...which wire tag property to keep". This gives an option to choose which tag to keep, but does NOT give the option to "quit" placing the symbol once the conflict is shown.
So an example scenario could be a page of a project has "0V" as a wire tag and by accident a wire link is attached to another page with a wire tag "N". Currently there is no option to stop placing the symbol once the pop-up appears; the only option would be to choose either "0V" or "N". You would then have to delete the wire link then re-tag one side of the wire, and then re-insert the link elsewhere.

Also if the "E.D.C" pop-up reveals multiple wire tags (which I have found), there is no option to quit and then search each wire tag to decide which the correct one is or solve a wire problem.
It would be beneficial if the "E.D.C" pop-up had a quit option?

I hope this makes sense?

  • I believe this has already been requested as an enhancement, but I will add your name to the list.  (One of the things we consider when deciding to add features to the software is how many requests for the feature we have had, or more generally, what its broader appeal might be to many users.  I believe this enhancement is worth while for all users.)

For the EDC I'm not sure what you mean. The EDC report pops up and lists all the items on the screen.  You can double click on any item to navigate to it and investigate it.  You can close the EDC at any time.  Can you explain what you mean better?
