Printer Configs (.pltcfg)

Im trying to set a number of default settings in my printer config (.pltcfg), one of which is printing in colour.

Currently "Default Colour Mode" is set to true colour, however this will only print the pages in colour if I select all pages -> Right Click -> Properties -> Advanced -> Color Options -> True Colour.

The printer is also setup for colour within windows.

Have I missed an obvious setting somewhere thats preventing the colour printing?

  • Something I have found;

    If I highlight a number of pages in project manager and plot them, it'll plot them in black and white.

    If I do the same again, but go to Printer setup and click the reload button, then print they'll print in colour.

    Its as if the .pltcfg file isn't being loaded initially?

  • I can confirm the same behaviour at my machine (promis.e 08.11.13.96), with few diffent pltcfg's (pdf and real printers). In each driver the option is set:

    I got used to choose all pages -> Right Click -> Properties -> Advanced -> Color Options -> True Colour before printing, as described in your first post. Not good if you forget about it, few times I had to re-print project just because it was printed in b&w.

  • I think alot of us have been doing this and it's been a pet niggle of mine.

    This morning I thought i'd try and do something about it, but it would appear to be a bug?

  • Hi Adam,

    I have under the Print Organizer > Printer Setup > printer.pltcfg > Printer Driver Configuration > Base Properties > General, the Default Color Mode Set to True Color.

    With this configuration if I either use Plot or even Project Publisher from under Output task, I am able to generate the output in color. Which of these options are you using to generate the outputs? Are you using Promis.e 08.11.13.96 same as Wojtek? Please confirm the same.

    I did the testing in Substation 08.11.13.140. I can surely test in Promis.e as well as let you know what I find.
