Hi
We have recently upgraded from Substation V8i to CONNECT version.
When selecting items that had one or more lines over the top of one another I used to be able to deselct the unwanted object/line by holding the 'ctrl' key and left click. How do I do this is CONNECT. I read 'esc' key and ';'. that worked but is there are siimplier method like there was in V8i?
Thanks
Jess
Hi Jessica,
In CONNECT edition you can enable "ESC"key to stop command .please refer below image it may help you.

Thank you for your reply. Do you know the simple method of selecting one or the other object when they are over the top of one another? the Ctrl key was how we controlled it in V8i
In CONNECT also the same process follows, holding CTRL to select multiple elements and again by holding CTRL clicking on selected elements to deselect the elements.it works fine in CONNECT as in V8i.
let me know what issue exactly you are facing. are you not able to select or deselect the elements?
Hi Sid,
I must apologise. I mad an error. It is not the 'ctrl' key at all. In V8i it is selecting the object with a left mouse click and then further with a right click to select the other object underneath the first. I can't seem to get this to work in connect version.
Any ideas?
I tried but I am unable to reproduce the scenario in v8i and Connect that you have explained above.
but if you are looking for selecting elements then you can try with + sign(add) in element selection tool.
Sid
Thanks for trying. In V8i would you mind trying this? Draw a line in one level and then place another over the top of it in another level. Left click to select one, but then right click to deslect it and select the line underneath it....
I can't get this function to work in Connect. any ideas?
hello Jessica,
please find the attached video which I tried as per your steps. I am able to select another element which is in another level.
let me know if this helps you.
