How do I show text and dimensions etc over the top of a referenced saved view?

Hi,

I am using Substation Connect V6 and I am trying to place text, dimensions & identifiers onto a Saved View that I have referenced into a construction sheet.

(The saved view was created in the model and then referenced into the construction sheet)

BUT, whenever I place either text or dimensions etc they end up behind the reference and you can not see them.

I have changed the priorities of the items and it still makes no difference.

I am unable to find whether I can change the priority of the saved view when referenced in???

When I reference in the image as a normal reference the text, dimensions etc all work fine and are visible on top of the reference so we can see them.

  • Hi Amanda,

For the issue you are facing in Construction Mode, can you check while placing the Text or Annotation if they are snapped to objects which are at the top of the referenced saved view or bottom. You can make sure to while placing Text or Annotation it is snapped to top most if there are multiple objects when selecting using Top view. This can be checked by changing the view to isometric view.

In the below image it can be seen that two different text have been placed one text (Text 1) which is snapped to the middle section of Tower and another is snapped top of the tower and the according view can be seen in top view where Text 2 is seen completely and not Text 1.

    Hope the above suggestion helps!

  • Thank you for getting back to me Satish.

I see what you are saying, however the construction drawing is made on a  2D seed file.

The 3D model is a separate file that is referenced into this 2D construction drawing.

The text is placed in this 2D construction drawing not the 3D Model.
