rsalg file vs alg file stationing

Hi everyone.

I have come across a problem that the stationing of the RSALG file does not match with the alg file it originates from. I have an alg file of a 17km long track which I have created a rsalg file from. When I compare the stationing between these files, I realize that the stationing differs. The RSALG file has a higher station value than the alg file at the same location. The difference in station between these files increases along the track.

Could it be that the RSALG file is taking into account the slopes along the track i.e. the real length of the track and the alg file only looks at the track as it was lying on a flat surface and only consider the horizontal geometry when it comes to the stationing?
