Is there a way to "explode" a line string to modify it?

I have some lines on a wire harness drawing that I want to edit. When I hover over the line is says "LINE STRING"  Level:ECT_CONN_GENERAL_WIRES

I would like to remove some parts of the line.

I would like to remove the half circles from where a line crossed but the entire line seems to be one continious piece.

The really wird thing is that when I select the line, the tool bar displays the "Wire Tools" tab.
