How to refresh or re-link wire numbers?

Hello,

I have a 77 page schematic with a wire 2 (the common) running all thru the set. There seems to be some kind of disconnect between sheet 4 and sheet 5.

I have a wire link between the pages that correctly takes you back and forth to the right link but it seems to recognize the wire on sheets 1 thru 4 as different than the wire number

on sheets 5 and up. Is there some way to refresh or re-link this?

I've tried moving the wire link off the wire and then back on to try to force it to recognize the correct wire but no luck.

There's various gauges assigned to the various wires so I'm leary of deleting and re drawing the wire.

Any ideas/

  • Hi Steve,

I would like to know if the Wire Link after page 5 were they linked earlier and no they are not working?

Please try the below suggestion and let me know if any of them help with the issue you are facing,

    >> Update page by selecting all the pages in Project Manager and then right-click and select Update page.

    >> If the above suggestion does not help try Rebuilding Project Database bu right click on Project and select Rebuild Project Database.

    >> If both the above suggestion doesn't help try Replacing symbols with itself, you can follow below wiki link for steps.

Product(s): Promis.e CONNECT Edition Version(s): 10.00.XX.XX to 10.09.XX.XX Environment: NA Area: Component Feature Subarea: Find and Replace …

  • Hello Satish,

I figured out how to fix this and wanted to share in case anybody else ran into this.

First off it's not anything wrong with the software. A person who created the schematic before me didn't draw to snaps.

You know how when you delete something and then you get a gap between the wires, when you go to connect them the software asks wich wire number you want to make it?

I used that to my advantage by taking a piece of the wire out, relaying in the wire link on snap, then drawing a wire between the two segments.

The software barked at me telling me there were 2 wire numbers about to be joined, asking me which wire number I wanted to make them.

I chose the wire number it was supposed to be and problem fixed! The two wires were super close but not exactly on each other due to not being drawn to a snap point.

    if this helps anybody .....kewl.

And thank you Satish for showing me how to update a page, that will definately be helpfull in the future.

  • Hi Steve,

    Thanks for the update,

You can in the future if any such wire links are not connected by running the Engineering Considerations for Unlined Wire Links. Refer the below image for steps to do the same.
