Hello,
I've just downloaded Openutilities connection version of substation software and faced few problems.
1. Is the functionality of the student version limited?
2. Why does my UI look completely different than on this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-vSt8edmU0
3. Why I cannot place and create elements of primary equipment?
I would like to use this software in my master thesis regarding substation design. Would appreciate any help.
Regards,
Rafał
Hey,
I wasnt aware that you have to setup project base first in order to access full functionality. Everything works as it should. I have access to the same scope of options as shown in presentation video. I have few more questions tho.
1. Is it possible to create custom primary equipment based on 3D dwg files from Autocad?
2. Is it possible to model primary equipment directly trough program functionality?
3. Do I need additional Bentley program to model basic buldings like control room and so on?
Regerds,
Hi Rafal,Yes, you can use 3D Drawing from AutoCAD to create 3D symbols in Substation by importing them while creating the symbols.

You can directly model the equipment in Substation

You can use the regular modelling tools available in Substation that are MicroStation tools which is the Power Platform for Substation. But you can also use OpenBuildings Designer depending on your requirment.
