Suddenly my promise is not able to connect to the network databases. When I start up I get an alert.
After I click "OK" I get the following message:
If I click on "RETRY" I just keep getting the same message.
If I click on "CANCEL" the program seems to not open for awhile but then the Project manager opens. I can manually drill down to where the projects are, but
once I click on a project the page opens with the message "promise tools unavailable".
Can you help me to fix this?
Hi Steve,The issue you are facing might be due to some recent updates to MS Office on your machine, which might be effecting Promis.e CONNECT. Hence for this issue can you try uninstalling Access Database Engine from your control panel and then try installing Access Database Engine from the below link and check if it helps ?
Hope this HelpsThanks & RegardsSatish Saptasagar

Satish, our IT department is asking if this Access Satabase Engine file is "specially packaged" ?
Apparently they're trying to find a solution to why everytime I have a Office update we have to re-install this file.
Hi Steve,Promis.e CONNECT is a 64bit software which is compatible with MS Office 64bit which can be referred from the below wiki link. Essentially Promis.e CE needs Access Database Engine 64bit.
Recently there have been some office update which are causing issues to Access Database Engine. Check if your machines have the Office Update KB5002099. One of the work around for this issue is to Re-Install after updating the MS Office to resolve the issue with the KB5002099. Also the better Workaround is to try uninstalling the KB5002099 MS Office update and then try using Promis.e CE. Below is the link with details on the issue with the office update.Let us know if uninstalling the Office update helps with the issue you are facing. Thanks & Regards,Satish Saptasagar
