As the title says, a Promis.e Connect drawing was mistakenly opened with Promis.e V8i, and now none of the project files can be opened in Connect. We restored the project directory from a backup, but that didn't fix it so I'm guessing something else in either another directory or the database was overwritten. What needs to be done to fix this issue?
Hi Gabriel,Can you let us know the version V8i and CONNECT versions of Promis.e which you are using? When you tried opening Promis.e CONNECT Project page in V8i were you prompted with message to update the database? did you upgrade the database? The project you restored in from Backup, what is the error message that you get while restoring or opening the project page. Can you share a screen shot of the message ?Thanks & RegardsSatish Saptasagar
We are using Promis.e SELECTseries 7 08.11.12.137, and Promis.e CONNECT Update 10. There were no prompts, it opened the drawing fine in V8i, and then after realizing the mistake an attempt was made to open it with CONNECT, but the project and drawing can't even be seen now in the program, but they exist when viewed through a file manager.
When we open the Configuration Assignment Utility and set it to the correct server and database we can see the project on the right, but it has a red symbol on it and can't be checked. Additionally the project workspace isn't available, I can only see the examples that came with the software.
Hi Gabriel,Can you hover over the Project on the right with the Red Cross, it will display the details why the project is not accessible. If possible kindly share share the screen shot of the error details. Thanks & Regards,Satish Saptasagar
Nothing happens when you hover over the icon, and when you hover over the name it just shows the directory address of the project. If I right click, it give me the dialog to open the project, which when clicked just opens the location in file explorer.
Okay, we've made some progress but have hit a different wall. It turns out we needed to rebuild the ect.fid file, and copy over the example ProjectOptions.xml file from the example project and then let it get overridden. Now we can view the project and all the drawings in the Project Manager, we just can't open them.
Our directory structure for the project goes \\network\Promise\project\DRAWINGSET\file.dwg. But it appears that when we try to open the file it is looking for it in \\network\Promise\project\file.dwg, completely ignoring the DRAWINGSET folder. How can we make the actual path, and the path Promis.e incorrectly thinks the file is at, match. Here is the error:
Hi Gabriel,Can we have a offline meeting so that I can have better understanding on this issue? Thanks & Regards Satish Saptasagar
