Hello everyone, I would like to generate restrictions when using reference files. Being able to adapt the location of my symbols to elements of reference files. For example, if I have an attached reference file of civil elements such as foundations or soils, made by a collaborator A, I want to be able to adapt the location of my symbols to elements of that reference if it changes, or to notify me when it is modified and I accept that change. If possible, how could I proceed?
Hello Damian, Currenlty there is no feature that indicates if a reference file has been updated or changed. There is another suggestion that I can provide so that you can check if it works. Instead of directly referencing a drawing you can create a Saved View or Section Callout of the users drawing. Then you can attach the Saved View or Section Callout create it using a Visible Edges "Cached".
Hence since the you are using a cached reference even if the user updates or make any changes they will not be seen in your reference. If you need to update the reference with the changes at any point then you can go to the reference DGN and try opening the saved view / section callout sheet and then you will get below message asking you you would like to update the Visible Edges, if you Answer Yes then your reference will be updated with the new details as generated by the other user. Hope This HelpsThanks & Regards Satish Saptasagar
Thanks Satish! That is, the Cached view is only updated if we update or synchronize it, unlike the dynamic view that does it automatically. It is right?
Hi Damian,Yes the Cached view is only updated if user allows to update it with new details. Where as the Dynamic view will always always show the details automatically from the DGN. Thanks & RegardsSatish Saptasagar
Thank you very much, on the other hand, there is no way that one can modify the movement of the equipment according to the movement of the elements in the reference file, right?
