Hello everyone, I would need to generate reports and tables of material volume. For example, I generate a concrete foundation, and inside it has a PVC pipe. How could I generate volume quantity reports, based on each material? concrete, stone, etc. The same happens in cases where you would like to know the amount of iron that a structure has, from some catalog symbol. Is there a link I can see? Thank you
Hi Damian, Can you help us understand you are facing this issue while using which software? Thanks & RegardsSatish Saptasagar
Satish, in OUS. How information can be extracted, for example, from different materials contained in the cells. There are foundation symbols, structure symbols. One would like to extract their information from those symbols (volume, material, amount of iron), and not just manufacturer information from the parts database. Because if I lay the foundation and can't extract the volume of concrete, the volume of the street pavement is just a graphic symbol. There are several alternatives, but they are not direct to be able to extract these materials through reports.
Hi Damian, Since you are planning to extract the details from the cell, you will have to use MicroStation Power Platform Tool "Reports" to be able to do the same. Below is just an example on how to get volume of equipment placed. You can refer the below MicroStation Help link for more details on Reports. But since these are MicroStation Reports the details related to the same are not stored in the Substation Project Database and hence it will not be included due to this reason in the OUS BOM Reports. Hence if you are planning to obtain this data from the OUS Reports, then you will have to add the details of the required properties in the Parts Database and then create Custom OUS Reports as per your requirements. You can use the MicroStation Reports to extract the details on Volume, Material which can then be added to the Parts Database. Hope This Helps! Thanks & Regards Satish Saptasagar

Thanks Satis! I understand that if you wanted to go deeper, you should do it on the MS forums. For example, group the volumes in a single row for each type of material, etc.
