I'm trying to make a new plug/connector symbol. Edit/modifying other symbols in our library, there's an attribute called "TerminalNumber" I want to use, but it's not in any of the existing attribute tabs (Symbol Create Wizard - Step 6). I tried to add this attribute as a custom using the steps here:
How to Add Custom Symbol text Attribute in Promis.e CONNECT - OpenUtilities Wiki - OpenUtilities - Bentley Communities
But I get the error "object reference is not set to an instance of an object." Is this the correct way to do this or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Hello Brad, The Terminal Number that is usually seen on a Terminal Symbol is actually it is part of the Device Id of the Terminal. Hence due to that when you are creating a Terminal Symbol you get an Option to place Tag Mnemonic and Terminal/Pin number in Step 4, hence there is no default Terminal Number Attribute. Refer the below screen shot for details. For the Error you are getting when placing the Custom Terminal Number Attribute can you share the screen shot of the error message? Can you check if you can reproduce the issue when placing other normal / Custom Attributes in the symbol? Thanks & RegardsSatish Saptasagar
