Creating a Symbol from Scratch in OpenUtilities Update 15

We are working with OpenUtilities Substation connect edition update 15 and we have some questions as follows:

1- How can we create a symbol from scratch for a transformer? The resource we have is outdated (V8i).

2- We don't have access on the Component Center. Who is granting this access? I thought we should have it with each software we bought.

3- Are the conduits modeled inside OpenUtilities or should we use OpenBuildings for this application?

4- Similar to Q3, should we model the normal power panel in OpenBuildings or OpenUtilities.

Finally, are there any updated tutorials for this software?

Any help will be appreciated.

A.Y.

  • Hi Ala,

Yes you can create symbol using Symbol  Creation tool from Manage >> Create Symbol.

1- How can we create a symbol from scratch for a transformer? The resource we have is outdated (V8i).

Can you share the error message or the issue you are facing when trying to access?

2- We don't have access on the Component Center. Who is granting this access? I thought we should have it with each software we bought.

I am not sure about OpenBuilding Designer but you can use Bentley Raceway and Cable Management (BRCM).

3- Are the conduits modeled inside OpenUtilities or should we use OpenBuildings for this application?

You can use OpenUtilities Substation to design Panels.

4- Similar to Q3, should we model the normal power panel in OpenBuildings or OpenUtilities.

You can go to the below link and check for the Learn Server Videos for the same.
