  • The easiest method would be start within the CAD and use 'File>Open' to open the DWG file which contains the symbol/blocks/cells.

Then go to the 'Manage>Component Management>Create Symbol' and select Step 1 > Option 2 'New symbol (Import Symbol Graphics)'.

On step 2 you can then click on 'Select Objects' and select what you want to be in the symbol (1 at a time). Once selected and right-clicked you should see that 1 or more objects have been selected.

You can then go through step 3 to define the symbol type and then jump to step 5 for the device ID where you should be placed into the work area and see the selected object.

Make sure to adjust the symbol so it sits nicely on a standard grid. You may need to drop the symbol if you want to adjust individual aspects (use keyboard shortcut 6 + 1) to drop the items.

Add device tag, connection points, attribute text and an insertion point before saving.

    This is a test

  • When creating a symbol from scratch using the wizard. Can I only use graphics in cells or can I pick lines/circles etc.
