Hello
anyone knows what is the meaning of the button "refresh" in the "catalog manager"?
Sometime (seems random) after importing a new database I can not find the new symbols. Clicking "Refresh" button all symbols are updated.
Regards, Costantino
Costantino,
The refresh is really just a re-index of the catalogs 'catalog.mdb' file that sits in the catalogs root folder. If for instance you were to manually add a symbol or remove some families in the background you could update the catalog by clicking 'refresh'.
Normally this shouldn't be needed but I have seen rare situations across networks where the catalog needs refreshing to list modified or new symbols and macros.
I have also seen a situation where new catalogs that are added to the paths in the 'Setup' dialog don't get displayed when the 'Catalog Manager' is first opened. However I find that just closing and opening the 'Catalog Manager' usually corrects this.
Hope this helps,
John.
