I am new to Bentley substation and I am going through the tutorial and setting it up for the company I work for. We are mainly interested in the 3D physical layouts and advance to the protection and control a little later. Right now I'm having trouble with the label placement and titleblock creation in Bentley substation (series 7) for 3D physical layouts. I've created an elevation an a few site dwgs that I want to label. I enter the first point then go to enter the second and substation freezes and closes. I think I have missed a step somewhere, just can't figure out where.
I've also created a titleblock with the attributes that I would like to use for a set of drawings. When I create a new page only 3 of the 10 attributes shows up and updates. The rest don't show up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The first question is referring to the Place Labels tool, is that correct? Is this a tutorial supplied with the software or is it training course material?
Regarding the title block question, the only thing I can think of is that the title block variables you've placed do not correspond to the data you think they do. If the attributes in question are page or project descriptions, open a page of the project before opening Title Block Designer. The page and project description names as configured in Project Options will then appear as hints next to the variable names in the wizard so you have a better idea which ones to place where. For example: "Page.Description_004(Drawn By)".

Thanks for your help. The titleblock information was exactly what I needed. Is there a way to configure the variables to what i want to use them for. For ex: "page.description_004(Township, Range, Section, Scale) ? To reply to you questions, I am referring to the place labels tool. Here's what happens. I create a new page. I reference in the dwg I want to label or dimension. I go to the place labels tool. Enter all the information that the tutorial tells me to. Go to place the label. Click on the points where I want to place it. Then substation freezes up and closes. Now, I can place a label on a dwg that is not a reference. But then I won't get any information in the bill of materials.
Thanks again for all your help.
