When trying to use Promis.e tools or Substation tools such as Insert Symbol and Draw Wire, nothing happens.
Assuming the application loaded completely, tools for drawing and inserting items onto drawings will not work unless a project page is properly opened. The design file (drawing) that is open when the software is first started should not be drawn upon, and design files opened by means other than the Project Manager will not be recognized as project pages and so tools such as Insert Symbol and Draw Wire will not function.
Note: beginning with the CONNECT Edition release, page drawings opened by means other than Project Manager will be recognized as project pages and operated on as such. The CONNECT Edition is the major version after V8i.
Use Project Manager to open a project page. If none exist, create a project and/or page by selecting Project Manager > File > New...
After a page is open, use the desired tool.
Note: Be sure to open project pages only via Project Manager. In Project Manager double-click the page or right-click it and select Open. Similarly, only close pages by right-clicking them in Project Manager and selecting Close, or by closing the software.
