How do I control whether the column of cross references at a primary star wire link grows upward or downward?
For wire link symbols that contain no cross reference attributes, the cross reference text is inserted at the device ID attribute when the symbol is used in a schematic. When the Link Type of the wire link is "Multi-reference Group" or the wire link is a Primary link of a "Star Group", multiple cross references will appear at the device ID attribute. The cross references will appear in a vertical column. The upward or downward direction that the column of text grows as more cross references are added depends on the position of the device ID attribute relative to the insertion point in the symbol definition.
Use Create Symbol to create or modify the symbol.
Position the device ID attribute so that it is vertically higher than the insertion point. It does not need to be directly above the insertion point. The insertion point is the red arrow in the screen shot below, and "L1" represents the device ID attribute. The device ID attribute is placed by clicking the Place button on the "Specify Device ID" step.
