Cannot draw wires in custom modes

    Product(s): Promis.e, Bentley Substation
    Version(s): through 08.11.13.140
    Environment: N/A
    Area: Wiring Features
    Subarea: Draw Wire

    Problem Description

After creating a custom drawing mode using Mode Manager, the tools for drawing wires, cables, pipe, or hoses, such as Draw Wire, do not draw any lines on the project page.

    Steps to Resolve

A wire layer for the custom mode must exist before wires can be drawn.

    1. Select Options > Project Options > Wire Settings > Wire Layer Configuration
    2. Click the New Layer button.
    3. Specify a name for the new wire use.
    4. Specify the custom drawing mode in the Drawing Mode column.
    5. Specify any other desired settings.
    6. Click OK.
