Problem Description

Various undesirable behavior is seen in a project including

• Navigate option is missing when symbols are right clicked
• Data is missing from reports
• Cross references are missing
• Symbol text does not update properly across symbols for a device
• Error checking is not finding some errors
• BOM Explorer is missing devices or wires
• Wire numbers are not getting numbered or duplicating correctly
• In SELECTseries 7, Assign/Edit Wire Number dialogs appear instead of Wiring Manager

Behavior may only affect certain pages and new pages typically behave correctly.

Reason

These behaviors are consistent with having one or more pages "offline" in the project. Data for the content of offline pages does not exist in the project database and so the symbols and wires on such pages do not behave as they do on online pages.

The problem behaviors are often discovered after upgrading the software since offline pages were not treated correctly in versions prior to V8i SELECTseries 3, behaving in many aspects just like online pages.

Steps to Resolve

To make a page online, right-click the page in Project Manager and set the Set page online check box.

To quickly see which pages are online or offline in a project, use Run Reports to run the "Page List - Letter" report, which includes an "Online" column.
