      Product(s): Promis.e, Bentley Substation
      Version(s): 08.11.12
      Environment: N/A
      Area: Project Management
      Subarea: Backup and Restore Project

    Error or Warning Message

When using Restore Project to restore a project backup file, the following message is displayed:

    Information
There are error during restore, please try to rebuild this project to fix it.

    Explanation

There is missing or incorrect data in the database in the backup file (.PRJ) being restored.  When the message is acknowledged by selecting OK, the software will skip the related problem records so that the restore process can continue.  To try to repair the missing data, rebuild the project.

    How to Resolve

After performing either procedure below, there may be some outstanding issues that have to be addressed by the user as they are found.

Option 1 (Best) - Rebuild source project

    1.  If the original project from which the backup was created is still available, right-click that project in Project Manager and select Rebuild Project Database.
    2. Create a new backup of the source project.
    3. Restore the new backup.

Option 2 - Rebuild restored project

After dismissing the error message and the project is restored, right-click the project in Project Manager and select Rebuild Project Database.
