When [[Project Manager]] is opened, a big red X appears over the folder tree pane, and an error message is displayed.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Pages in the currently selected project can be accessed, but no other projects can be selected.

How to Resolve

Option 1

1. Click the [[Reset Project Manager Dialog|Reset button on Project Manager]].

Option 2

If the Reset button does not help or is not available, do the following.

1. Close Promis.e or Bentley Substation.

2. Delete or rename the following folder
   [[Application Data (per-user configuration) - Promis.e]]
   [[Application Data (per-user configuration) - Substation]]
