The appearance of various types of text in a project can be controlled on a per-instance basis, symbol definition basis, or project basis. This allows for universal standards to be applied regardless text settings used during symbol creation but also allows for flexibility in special cases.
This will override settings from the symbol definition and from Project Options.
In the case of symbols, the text settings found in the symbol definition in the catalog at the time of insertion will be used, unless the text settings in Project Options are set to override them.
Select Options > Project Options > Standards > Text Settings
Select Options > Project Options > Text Settings
To apply a text setting to all instances in the project, set the Use text style and/or Use text height check boxes below the appropriate text style name. Setting Use text style will apply all the settings except height. Setting Use text height will apply only the Height setting.
Setting these check boxes in Project Options, or clicking Edit and changing text settings that already have these check boxes set, and then clicking Apply or OK on the Options dialog will override text settings from symbol definitions as well as any changes made on a per-instance basis within the project.
Clearing these check boxes will not cause existing instances of the text in the project to revert to text setting found in the symbol definition or how it may have been set on a per-instance basis.
