Part_Type filter values

This article provides a list of values that can be assigned to the Part_Type field in part number records and the purpose of each value. Part_Type values assigned to part numbers can be changed using Parts Database Manager.

Part_Type values

Part_Type	SS8	SS7	Description
ACK	•	•	(Substation) Parts with a Part_Type value of ACK will be considered accessory kits and listed on Accessory Kit Manager.
DIN	•	•	Parts with a Part_Type value of DIN will be available for use with the Insert DIN Rail tool (Draw Panel Layout Accessories dialog).
GGClamp	•	•	(Substation) By default, parts with a Part_Type value of GGClamp will be included in the parts available for selection in the Terminator field on the Place Grounding Grid dialog. To have the software filter on a different Part_Type value, specify the value in 3D Layout Settings > Project Settings > Grounding Grid > PartTypeForTerminator.
GGROD	•		(Substation) By default, parts with a Part_Type value of GGROD will be included in the parts available for selection in the Ground Rod field on the Place Grounding Grid dialog and will be available when using the Insert Rod Object tool. To have the software filter on a different Part_Type value, specify the value in 3D Layout Settings > Project Settings > Grounding Grid > PartTypeForGndRod.
GGWire	•	•	(Substation) By default, parts with a Part_Type value of GGWire will be included in the parts available for selection in the Wire type field on the Place Grounding Grid dialog. To have the software filter on a different Part_Type value, specify the value in 3D Layout Settings > Project Settings > Grounding Grid > PartTypeForWire.
GGWROD	•		(Substation) By default, parts with a Part_Type value of GGWROD will be included in the parts available for selection in the Ground Rod connector field on the Place Grounding Grid dialog. To have the software filter on a different Part_Type value, specify the value in 3D Layout Settings > Project Settings > Grounding Grid > PartTypeForWeldingGndRod.
GGWT	•	•	(Substation) By default, parts with a Part_Type value of GGWT will be included in the parts available for selection in the Connector 3-wire field on the Place Grounding Grid dialog. To have the software filter on a different Part_Type value, specify the value in 3D Layout Settings > Project Settings > Grounding Grid > Connector 3-wire.
GGWX	•	•	(Substation) By default, parts with a Part_Type value of GGWX will be included in the parts available for selection in the Connector 4-wire field on the Place Grounding Grid dialog. To have the software filter on a different Part_Type value, specify the value in 3D Layout Settings > Project Settings > Grounding Grid > Connector 4-wire.
REP	•	•	(Substation) Parts with a Part_Type value of REP will be included in the parts available for selection when the "Repeating" Substation Filter is applied when using the Insert Substation Objects tool.
SGL	•	•	(Substation) Parts with a Part_Type value of SGL will be included in the parts available for selection when the "Single" Substation Filter is applied when using the Insert Substation Objects tool.
TER	•	•	Beginning with version 08.11.12.120, devices assigned a part number that has a Part_Type value of TER will be included when the Terminal/Plug filter is applied on Insert Symbol By Device ID. Prior to this version, the software relied on the symbol type of the schematic symbol to determine if the device should appear under the Devices or Terminal/Plug filter.
VAR	•	•	(Substation) Parts with a Part_Type value of VAR will be included in the parts available for selection in the Insert Cable/Bus Object tool. In SS7, parts with the VAR part type were also available on Insert Substation Objects when the "Variable" filter was applied.
X-X	•		(Substation) Parts with a Part_Type value of X-X will be included in the parts available for selection when the "Linear" Substation Filter is applied when using the Insert Substation Objects tool. This value was not used prior to SS8. It is used in place of VAR which is now for cable and bus parts only.
