Users often wish to create multiple promis•e projects with the same project options. This document details how this can be accomplished without modifying the project options in each project.
In previous versions of promis•e this was achieved by the "Use Parameters From" option of the New Project dialog. In promis•e 2007 and V8i a similar technique can be used. It is also possible to specify a set of project options to be used by default when a new project is created.
Parameters in promis•e are stored as .xml files. These .xml files can be shared between workstations or on a network. Project options .xml files can be created from the Promis-e Options dialog.
Note: Never overwrite a non-project options .xml file with the project options settings. This will result in program errors.
To use this file when creating a new project, simply click the [...] button near the Use Project Options From field in the New Project dialog and browse for the .xml file.
To have this file appear in the Use Project Options From field of the New Project dialog by default:
