How can I import a .LAS file?

    Background

A .LAS file is a LiDAR file. These files need to be converted to POD format so it can be attached. Use the point cloud tools are platform tools so they are documented in the MicroStation Help file.

    Steps to Accomplish

    1. Open the project page or other DGN file into which the .LAS file is to be imported.
    2. Open the Point Clouds dialog (File > Point Clouds).
    3. From the dialog's icon bar, click the Attach Point Cloud tool. The Open dialog opens.
    4. From the file list, select the .LAS file and click Open. The Convert LAS dialog opens.
    5. Select the desired settings and click OK.
    6. The Specify New POD File dialog opens.
    7. Give the file a name and click Save.

This should result in the point cloud being attached to the DGN and displaying in the view selected in the Point Clouds dialog.
