Background

Sometimes a user may wish to edit the text that appears in menus and dialogs for any given drawing mode. For example, change the name of additional wire properties fields that appear in Edit Wire dialog box from "user1" to say "orientation" or even change the name of  the Edit Wire dialog to Wire Properties.

Note: Changing the default names of fields and dialogs should be carefully considered.  After an administrator changes the names of these items, users may forget or never know that the names have been customized, which can cause confusion when these custom names are used when requesting technical support.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Open Mode Manager.
   
   
2. Click on the > icon beside Promis.e or Substation Connect Edition in the center column. The display will expand to show all the dialogs for the selected drawing mode
   
   
3. Click on the name of the dialog to edit. The field labels, button labels and prompts for that dialog will be listed on the right side of the dialog. For example, select "Edit Wires".
   
   
   
4. To edit a label, enter the new label text in the Mode field on the right. For example, enter "Wire Properties" next to "Edit Wires" and enter "Orientation" next to "User1".
   
5. Select Apply or OK to save your changes.

After applying the above changes the Edit Wires dialog appears as follows.
