The default text settings for symbol text for different modes are present in the Project Options settings. The text settings applied to the various text types when Create Symbol is opened can always be changed while in Create Symbol.
Along with Text Settings Use Text Style and Use Text Height options are provided as highlighted in the below image from Options >> Standards >> Text Settings. If these options are enabled they will override the text properties given to text in Create Symbol when the symbol is inserted in Projects. The purpose of these settings is to provide a way of making symbol text appear universal throughout a project regardless of how the symbols were created. So it may not be necessary to be concerned about how the text appears while in Create Symbol. Conversely, it may be best to have the text appear in Create Symbol as it will in the project in order to correctly position it.
1. If the settings need to be changed for only a particular Project open the Project page.
2. Select Options from Project Manager and select Standards >> Text Settings.
3. Select the Mode for example Schematic, Panel Mode..... . Then select the Symbol Text that needs to be modified ( Device Id, Connection Point ....) and check Use Text Style and Use Text Height if the specified text settings need to be implemented by overriding the text settings specified while creating a symbol.
4. Now select Edit to make the changes to the Text Formatting according to requirement and select ok. After making the changes select Ok in Projects Options.
5. If this setting needs to be applied to all the new Projects then save the Project Options and select it while creating a new Project or specify it as default Project Options for the WorkSapce / WorkSet variable.
