Symbol Modification not reflected in Project

      Product(s): Promise CONNECT Edition
      Version(s):  10.00.XX.XX to 10.06.XX.XX
      Environment:  NA
      Area:  Component Management
      Subarea:  Create Symbol

    Background:

The users may many times face issues that the changes made to the symbol are not automatically updated in Projects. This is done in order to preserve the appearance of completed Projects as they were designed. If the user modifies a symbol using Create Symbols while having a project page open, after the completion to symbol editing and saving software will prompt to replace the symbol in Projects with a new symbol.

    Steps to Accomplish

    1. Open a page of the Project where the new symbol needs to be updated.

    2. Select Replace >> Update Symbol under Catalog. Click Get Symbol List

    3. Select the Symbol/s that need to be updated (if multiple symbols select by keeping the CTRL button pressed) and then select Ok.

Note: For a schematic symbol inserted on a page that has a family assigned, the connection point text specified by the family will override the connection point text defined in the symbol.  To change the connection point text on a symbol in this situation, modify or create a new family and adjust the connection point text there.
