Problem Description

After running Shortest Distance, the Validation Report contains results under "Error No. 12 Either the connection points are missing from the layout symbols or the connection point text on the layout symbols does not match the schematic symbols." Upon investigation, some or all of the results seem to be false; the connection points are not missing from the layout symbols and the connection point texts indeed match those on the schematic symbols.

Steps to Resolve

If the symbols in question are for terminal type devices, do the following:

1. Select Shortest Distance from Panel Design >> Run Shortest Distance under Panel Routing.
   
   
   
   
   
2. Click the Routing Options button on the resulting Shortest Distance Routing dialog and select Compatibility Options Tab and uncheck the options for "Enable Legacy Terminal CP Support" and click Ok. 
   
   
   
   
3. Click Start to route again.
