While items are at the mouse pointer during a move, copy, or placement operation, the items are redrawn whenever the mouse is moved. Selections with many elements can take a long time to redraw making the operation inefficient.
To improve the rate at which the items are redrawn, increase the values for the AutoCAD system variables DRAGP1 or DRAGP2. The DRAGP1 value is read when hardware acceleration is used; DRAGP2 is read when software acceleration is used. Both default and optimum values may vary based on the AutoCAD version being used. Experiment with different values until satisfied. Increasing the values to at least 50 is recommended.
Type the following at the AutoCAD command prompt:
DRAGP1 50 DRAGP2 50
DRAGP1 50
DRAGP2 50
Note: these are AutoCAD variables, not promis•e variables, and affect plain AutoCAD as well. In other words, this is not a problem caused by or unique to promis•e. Consult AutoCAD Help for details.
