How do I create a new catalog?

    Background

Users often wish to create a new, empty catalog in which to store custom symbols, macros, families, and title blocks.

    Steps to Accomplish

    1. Open the Setup dialog.
    2. In the Catalog Paths area/tab of Setup, click the + button to add a catalog path.
    3. Click the New button on the Add Catalog dialog.
    4. On the Create Catalog dialog, click the [...] button for the Path field and browse to the folder that is to contain the new catalog.
    5. Enter a name for the new catalog in the Name field.
    6. Click OK.

Consider moving catalogs containing custom data to the top of the Catalog Paths list using the up arrow button so that it will be the default destination for new symbols in symbol creation.

Note: When there are duplicate symbol names in different catalogs, the symbol definition in the catalog that is highest in the Catalog Paths list will be used.  Similarly for macros, families, and title blocks.
