    Underline normally closed contacts [FAQ]

    Document Information

    Document Type: FAQ

    Product(s): promis•e V8i & promis•e 2007

    Version(s): All

    Original Author: Matt_P

How do I make cross references to normally closed contacts appear underlined?

    1. With the project open, select Configure > *Configure > Options > Project Options > Display Formats (in promis•e 2007, select Manage > Promis-e Options > Project Options > Display Formats)
    2. Click the Edit button next to Device Cross Reference.
    3. Place a check in the box for Underscore in the row for the NC cross reference type.
    4. Click OK. Click OK again then Click Yes if prompted with "Do you want to update existing devices' formats in the project?"

If the cross references to the normally closed contacts are still not underlined, ensure that the NC Cross Reference Prefix has been assigned to the normally closed symbols that are being used in the project:

    1. Select Manage > *Component Management > Create Symbol (in promis•e 2007, select Components > Create Symbol).
    2. Select "Modify Existing Symbol"
    3. Proceed to the "Specify Symbol Type" step.
    4. Select "NC" from the "Cross Reference Prefix" drop down list.

If you modify symbols to add the prefix, be sure to update the project with the new version of the symbol(s) using Review/Revise > *Replace > Replace Symbol (in promis•e 2007, select Search > Replace Symbol).

    * is used to denote a menu selection that is not necessary with some CAD platforms.
