Why are the changes I made to the parts database not appearing in my project? Old, incorrect, or missing part number related information is seen in reports, on Insert Symbol By Device ID, Run Graphical Plan, or elsewhere in the project.
When a part number is assigned to a device in a project, the record for that part number is copied from the parts database to the project database and linked to that project. The same part number will have a unique record in the project database for each project in which it is used.
When a part number record is modified in the parts database, the part number information is not automatically updated in the project database by default. This is intentional behavior - it preserves the part number information in a project so the information in completed projects appears as designed.
