How to Import Drawings into Projects in OpenUtilities Substation CE

      Product(s): OpenUtilities Substation CONNECT Edition
      Version(s): 10.00.XX.XX to 10.11.XX.XX
      Environment: N\A
      Area: Project Management
      Subarea: Project Manager

    Background

The Import Drawings tool is used to import drawing files into the project that is selected in Project Manager. The drawings will be imported as individual pages.

    Step to follow:

    1. Open Substation Project Manager and Right Click on the Projects into which you want to import the DGN file and then browse to the folder where the drawing file DGN is located and select Ok.

    2. Next check the Drawing that needs to be imported and Specifies the Page Number, Drawing Set, Installation, Location, Title Block, Page Format,  Mode, and then select the Import.

Points to Consider before importing a Drawing

    1. If the folder to which you have browsed is an existing Project Folder, then no file will be listed.

    2. If the selected folder belongs to a project that is still accessible in Project Manager, Copy Page is preferred over Import Drawings.

    3. If the source project is not accessible to you but is to someone else, restoring a Backup made by the other user and then using Copy Page is preferred.

    4. If the source project is not accessible by any user, perhaps due to loss of project database data, renaming the ect.fid file in the folder being imported will allow Import Drawings to list the DGN files in the folder.
