OpenUtilities Substation Catalogs can contain a large amount of data. To improve delta file transfer performance and reduce required disk space (for client machines), it is recommended to implement the above User level CSB. This CSB allows you to redirect the OpenUtilities Substation variable “ELEC_CATALOG_PATH” to a location outside of ProjectWise, such as, a network drive. When the managed configuration includes multiple workspaces, it is possible to create a separate CSB for each workspace. And in this case, each user CSB name should be unique.
1. In ProjectWise Administrator, expand WorkSpaces > Managed then Right-click the User level and select New > Configuration Block.
2. In the New CSB dialog specify the Name of the of the CSB "Substation_CE_Unmanaged_Catalogs" and specify any Descriptions and select Apply.
3. Now click Configuration tab, click "+" and select Add Variable.
4. In the New Variable Dialog specify Name as "ELEC_CATALOG_PATH", specify the description. check the Locked checkbox and click Add. 5. In the Edit Value dialog set the Operator Type as "=" - Assignment >> select the Value Type as Directory and set the Value to path of / Location of the Catalog Folder and click Ok.
Value for below example: P:\Substation Engineering\OpenUtilities Substation Design Content\Catalogs\
6. Click Ok on New Variable dialog.
7. Click Ok on the Substation_CE_Unmanaged_Catalogs Properties dialog. 8. Link the above CSB to Work Area by referring to below Wiki Link section "Steps to Link CSBs to Work Area".
