Background:

User sometimes need to create Custom Part Number which are usually project specific and not standard Part Numbers. Also for these Custom Part Numbers the users might need configure variables according to the requirement. This Wiki Article will help on steps for how to Modify the "Create Custom Part" dialog for variables according their requirement.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Go to File >> Project Options >> select  BOM Manager Setting under "System Options" >> Part Setting.




2. Then Add or remove the Variables using the Add or Delete button depending on requirement.





Descriptions of Fields

Internal Field: Description of the variable used internally by the software.

Visible: Option to turn On or Off the visibility of the variable in the Custom Part Number dialog.

Data Type: Setting to control the input method for the values  like Text Area, String, Combo Box or DateTime.

Parts_Database Field: Field to select database field from Parts Database Manager when creating a Custom Non Coded Part where the value will be populated from after the Custom Part Number has been created.

BM Data Field: BM Data field where the value will be stored in the Project Database for the BM Data Table.

Display Name: Field to enter the name of variable that will be visible on the Custom Parts Database dialog.
