This is always present on the local client machines. The users can copy the old "DBsetting.xml" from the old Promis.e CONNECT folder to new Promis.e 2023 folder according to detailed path mentioned below.

Promis.e CONNECT : "C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Promise CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Datasets\Promise\Config"

2. Then manually Uninstall Promis.e CE using the Control Panel.

B. User with Projects and WorkSpace on Network Location.

1. After installing Promis.e 2023 for users who are having the projects and WorkSpace stored on the network location everything will remain as it is apart from the Default Database Configuration. This is always present on the local machines. The users can copy the old "DBsetting.xml" from the old Promis.e CONNECT folder to the new Promis.e 2023 folder according to detail path mentioned below.

Promis.e CONNECT : "C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenUtilities Substation CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Datasets\Substation\Config"
Promis.e 2023: "C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenUtilities Substation 2023\Configuration\Datasets\Substation\Config"

2. The user will also have to copy the "WorkSpaceSetup.cfg" which has the details of network location for the WorkSpace. The user can copy the WorkSpaceSetup.cfg from the Promis.e CONNECT folder to the Promis.e 2023 folder according to detailed paths mentioned below.

Promis.e CONNECT : "C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Promise CONNECT Edition\Configuration"
Promis.e 2023: "C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Promise 2023\Configuration"

3. Then manually Uninstall Promise CE using the Control Panel.

C. Users with full Local WorkSpace and Projects.

1. After installing Promis.e 2023 for users having the WorkSpace and Projects on the local machine they can copy all the configuration by copying all the files and folders from the "Configuration" folder in Promis.e CONNECT to the Configuration folder in Promis.e 2023 from the below paths.

Promis.e CONNECT : "C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Promise CONNECT Edition\Configuration"
Promis.e 2023: "C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Promise 2023\Configuration"

2. Once all the files and folders are copied, if the user is using Parts Database as an MDB file than they need to update the Mapping Path for the MDB file in the PartsDBMappings.xml file it is usually located in the below path for the OOTB ANSI WorkSpace but the user needs to locate one for their Custom WorkSpace or OOTB WorkSpaces PartsDBMappings.xml file and update the path if the path is a relative path

3. Then manually Uninstall Promis.e CE using the Control Panel.
