Background:

The user when working in OpenUtilities Substation 3D Layout page they might come across issue where the 3D Design Ribbon is greyed out. Due to this the user is not able to use 3D Design tools.

This issue usually occurs due to the reason that when user creates a Sheet Drawing in the 3D Layout page and then dose the "Save Setting" with the sheet model open, this leads to default model to be opened as Sheet Drawing page which is a 2D page due to which the 3D Design setting are not loaded.

Best Practice

As a Best Practice it is always recommended to switch from Sheet drawing model or any other Model to Default Model before doing a "Save Setting" to avoid such issue in future.

Steps to Resolve

1. Open the page where the issue is being faced.


2. Next switch the model from sheet drawing to Default Drawing >> click on Models >> Right Click on "Default" model and select "Set as Default".

3. Then click on "Save Setting" button. For the 3D Design ribbon to be enabled Close the Page and Open it again so that the changes are reflected.
