‘Populate along spline’ tool


After opening your model inside LumenRT, it’s gives you the rights to place characters, vehicles, and trees in a spinal path. Basically, you can use this tool to create a smooth curve by setting a brunch of predefined points for your elements.

It allows you to create a non-uniform curve which is passing through the points that you have created in the path. You can easily place your character

Inside the Character Tab the third option implies ‘Populate along a spline’.

The steps of placing your object in a spline path, is discussed below:

  1. Go to characters or plants or vehicles, the 3 option is stand for “populated along a spline”.
  2. After selecting your suitable object, specify the start point by clicking a point in your model.

      3.Specify your additional points by clicking with cursor, and create the placing path as per requirement.

LumenRT supports four types of placement mode in the spline tool.

With the help of these modes you can place your objectives in a fixed distance, fixed number of instances, mixed mode or can be increased or decreased the density of the object.

Also, from ‘distance’, the distance between the object can be adjusted.
