I have a location where two deck types meet, one with a roof loading and the other with a floor loading. There is an odd line load being applied in the analysis that is greatly affecting the design on my beams and columns. I cannot see to find the source…

  • Is there a way to apply nodal loads at an angle in the Frame Elevation of the modeler?

Trying to apply nodal loads to a frame that is skewed and it seems the options are limited to X and Y only. Applying with X and Y components at frame end did not produce expected results.

  • Design Gusset Plate Connection with Bracing Angle Above 70 Degrees

I am designing gusset plate connections from a model I brought in from RAM SS. The frame from the model has bracing with and angle of ~75 degrees. As I understand, RAM Connect will not allow me to design the connection with bracing above 70 degrees. Is…

Check this issue first: Missing or incorrect loads on perimeter beams Happens to members in the outer bay when the slab edge slightly diverges from the perimeter framing.

Karl found that the surface load polygon selected below on L1 is causing the problem. I think there is a snap issue with the slab edge or a deck nearby. If I delete it, then the model runs in RAM Concrete.

The reason we caution against hybrid decks is that once any portion of the diaphragm is 2-way, the whole thing has to get meshed. If you are using a semi-rigid diaphragm anyway, that not an issue since it being meshed already. RAMSS Two Way Decks The…

Check this wiki: communities.bentley.com/.../18040.missing-or-incorrect-loads-on-perimeter-beams If that's not the answer (some edge loads lost), then upload the file using the Secure File Upload Link below left. Another tip is to make all columns lateral…

I have seen this once before. The problem is the yellow model status light for the Ram Frame analysis. This can happen if the steel beam or steel column design is skipped because the program thinks some of the member self-weights might be missing…
