I'm currently trying to design special reinforced concrete structural walls for a parking deck in a high-seismic area using the Concrete Wall module in RAM Structural System. For some of the vertical section cuts I've made, the value of V e remains just…

Hello, I am currently working on a concrete building with the lateral load resisting system being composed of coupled shear walls. I have been using RAM SS Concrete to design the rebar so far. There are doorway openings in some of the walls and I will…

Make sure you have current analysis results from Ram Frame. If it still crashes try deleting and re-assigning the section cuts.

Please take a look at the program manual, RamConcreteShearWall.pdf, Section 7.4 Reinforcement Ratio Limits for some details on how we check ACI 318-11 Section 21.9.2.1. If that does not answer your question, let me know. I've copied a part of that below…

Try deleting and re-assigning the section cuts. If you have coupling beams, you can also try toggling them off and on again. If that does not help, make sure your Ram Frame analysis results are current and OK. You can check deflected shapes or member…

A bit of a typo in your post, I think you meant ACI 318-08 Section 11.9.9.5. You can control this to some degree using Criteria - Design Criteria - Code options block, Min value of Lw to Consider: If the value input here is longer than the plan length…
